Chinese camphor wood trunk on ebonized hardwood stand (c. 1820)

This camphor wood trunk exhibits elegant figuring, brass hardware, and rests on an ebonized hardwood stand with hand carved detailing.  China, made for the Western trade, circa 1820. Condition: The bottom of the trunk has shrinkage cracks and the bottom front edge of has a patch repair. Wear commensurate with age and use.
