Large English chinoiserie rolled rim tole tray (c. 1830)

Large English chinoiserie tole tea tray with rolled rim. The tray is decorated with a beautifully rendered and extensive landscape with figures, homes, and bridges, all surrounded by fantastically rendered jungle foliage with mountains in the distance. Unusual and exceptional.  Stenciled in red on the underside: 26 / 4.S. / MX England, circa 1830. Condition: The tray has some black ground enamel loss, one area with in-painting, as well as scattered chips and stains. Wear consistent with age and use.
