French fruitwood marquetry top writing table (1950’s)

Academic Revival rectangular bureau plat in the French Directoire taste. The fruitwood marquetry top is mounted on a conforming apron fitted with a divided long drawer. Each drawer face is banded with a brass molding and fitted with square bail & rosette drawer pulls. The desk is supported by square, wasted, and tapered legs which terminate in cast brass feet. Painted hardwood base with brass mounts. France, Academic Revival, mid 20th century.  Condition: Table has been repainted. Wear commensurate with age and use.
