Complete 3 volume set of The Standard Cyclopedia of Horticulture by L.H. Bailey. The title page calls it "a discussion for the amateur, and the professional and commercial grower, of the kinds, characteristics and methods of cultivation of the species of plants grown in the regions of the United States and Canada for ornament, for fancy, for fruit and for vegetables; with keys to the natural families and genera, descriptions of the horticultural capabilities of the states and provinces and dependent islands, and sketches of eminent horticulturalists". The three volumes are illustrated with color plates opposite the title pages plus 4,000 engravings in the text and 96 full page black and white illustrations. This set was published in 1947 but the original copyright dates to 1901.
