Lactuca sativa (33 days) Tango is a curled baby leaf variety that has a crisp, clean texture and holds up well with numerous salad dressings. Uniform attractive plants form tight erect rosettes, 12" across and 6-8" tall. Tango has been used for years in salad mixes and as favorite of the home gardener. A true "oak leaf" shaped lettuce that is lime green, deeply lobed and frilly. A vitamin rich variety that is perfect when harvested young. Keep planting every few week for a continuous harvest. Recommended for spring and fall plantings. Bolts early in the summer heat. Fast and easy to grow. For earliest starts, begin lettuce seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before final frost. Plant 2-3 seeds 1/4" deep and 2" apart in Organically rich, well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Lettuce seeds germinate in 7-10 days, thinning back to 1 plant every 4 in the garden.
