Montana Agate Earrings with Chocolate Diamonds and 14k Gold Wire Wrap

A half moon of Montana Agate sits perfectly cradled in a solid 14k gold teardrop and held in place by Dana's signature wire wrapping and two brown diamonds. The color of the stones reminds us of falling rain or watercolor brushstrokes. They are gorgeous pieces of Montana Agate, a very unique stone. Montana Agate, the state of Montana's official gemstone, is found only in gravel deposits around the Yellowstone River. A 65-million year old volcanic rock, Montana Agate can vary in color from red to brown and black and, rarely, green. The black and brown colors in these earrings are the result of manganese oxide in Milky Quartz. Montana Agate is considered a very hard rock, a hardness of 7, which makes it very durable and easy to wear.  Brown diamonds are the most common diamond in the world. Traditionally used for industrial purposes, they are now being used more widely in the jewelry industry.
