Winter Moonlight

Is there a stillness more beautiful than that of a clear night after a heavy snowfall? A more beautiful Christmas and New Year card could not be made. Jewel tones of teal, gold, and shadowy indigo depict an elegant winter scene. The heft of freshly fallen snow is balanced with a gloriously distant depth of field that hints of trees all around. A full moon brightens a starry night, and the silhouette of a fir tree stands tall in the foreground - its branches laden with snow. A deep drift shows that the weather wasn't always as calm and still as it now appears. There is no wind to speak of so smoke of a nearby house drifts in a graceful line straight up to the heavens. There is so much of nature's grandeur represented here with a human cozy presence just over there in the valley.
