These are processed into carbon soft felts by thermal treatment at 800-1,000°C. If these felts are treated at even higher temperatures >2,000°C, the carbon fibres increasingly take on a graphite-like structure, the so-called "graphite soft felts", without a real graphite structure being given. All soft felts can easily be cut with knives and scissors and thus easily adapted to the desired shapes.
