Star Anise is a licorice-like spice, similar to fennel and anise. It is more pungent than those spices though and has a bit more sweetness. It can be used whole; just be sure to remove from the dish before eating. Star Anise is also used as a medicinal. USES: Use in baked goods, liquors, teas, curries, soups, stews and Chinese dishes. *1 oz = approximately 4 heaping Tablespoons
