Winter Feeding Shim

For hives that need feeding for winter, this is a simple way to look after them till spring nectar starts to flow. Available for 8 or 10 frame hives, this shim is 1 3/8" deep and has a plastic queen excluder attached. It can be filled with up to 12 lbs of damp sugar or you can ready-made fondant and/or pollen patties. In the spring, the shim can be used for syrup feeding in ziplock bags. In the fall, it can be inverted and used as a medication rim for ApiGuard treatments.
