Runes Inspired to connect with our ancestors of the north, we made our own set of runes on 21 December 2020, when our baby girl Runa was 5 months old. Her name in itself is connected with the runes, as Runa means “mystery,” among other things. My dad is a lifelong woodworker and has saved wood for decades, always collecting special pieces that would have been thrown out otherwise.  These current sets are made from Pacific NW cedar wood that he salvaged. It is light, layered, aromatic, and of the heart. The runes come in an organic cotton bag, hand stamped with a custom stamp that we made. You will also receive a Rune Key with keywords for each rune symbol to start you on your journey of meaning and interpretation. Of course, each rune speaks to us in its own way, and the journey with them will extend throughout the rest of our lives once a set is adopted.
