Wild lettuce (Lactuca virosa) Also known as o-pium lettuce, bitter lettuce, wild o-pium, horse thistle, China lettuce and prickly lettuce. O-pium lettuce, aka Wild lettuce, secretes a milky white ingredient known as lactucarium when it is scratched or cut. Used in fertility rituals to honor the ancient Egyptian God Min; often added to love potions.
