The Blackwing Matte has the soft same graphite formulation as the since renamed "Blackwing Palomino." The updated Blackwing Matte imprint features a Graphite Identification Stamp indicating its "SOFT" graphite core.All Blackwing pencil products conform to ASTM D-4236.
