This is one incredible piece of musical equipment; it is a circa 1972 Mesa Boogie single-channel 100 watt head - one of the first thirty amplifiers built by Boogie founder Randall Smith, and it is only one of two or three heads made at the time. The amp has some (undocumented or confirmed) lore around it that it was once within the Grateful Deads arsenal of amplifiers. There is no paperwork confirning this, however it is true that many of the early Boogie heads did go to the band. When you play through the amp - you can certainly imagine it being suited for that music, it's incredibly clean and articulate sounding thanks to the 100-watt circuit and four 415 power tubes. Thankfully it does have a master volume control should you want to be daring enough to push the amp into overdrive. The amp has recently been serviced and a brand new power cable has been installed.
