This iconic chair was designed specifically for the Rose Main Reading Room by Carrère and Hastings, the same architects who created the landmark Stephen A. Schwarzman Building at Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street. Made of red oak with a hand-rubbed finish, the chair debuted along with the building in 1911. Our miniature is cold cast resin with a hand-painted wood finish. Inspired by the Deborah, Jonathan F. P., Samuel Priest, and Adam R. Rose Main Reading Room.
