7 Augustana College Yearbooks known as Rockety-I from 1950-1956The school was the first of many educational and humanitarian institutions established by the former Augustana Lutheran Church. Augustana College and Theological Seminary, as it was first known. The college and seminary moved from Chicago to Paxton, Ill., in 1863, and finally to Rock Island in 1875. The seminary became a separate institution in 1948, and in 1967 returned to the Chicago area, while the college remained in Rock Island.Yearbooks 1952, 53, 54, 55 and 56 measures 12 ¼” top to bottom, 9 1/2" side to side, and 1” thick. Years 1950 and 51 measures 11” top to bottom, 8 ¼” side to side, and 1 ¼” thick.These yearbooks are in good readable condition. There is some markings and dirt on the covers that is consistent with age.
