Canada West or Upper CanadaColton was a notable 19th century American publisher who published quality hand colored maps that were current with the constant changes of the era. This map for the area features the roads, cities, towns and terrain with distinguising hand color. Colton maps are pretty rare in the scope of 19th century publishing. Has insets showing the Vicinity of the Welland Canal and Niagara Falls and another showing Wolf Island at the commencemnt of the River St. Lawerence.Condition is very good with some age toning.
