Bird Lover Gift: Flying Common Redpolls Photo Award-Winning Nature Photo

Bird Lover Gift: Have I told you how I started taking serious my role of photographing little birds? I started photographing these Common Redpolls in my neighbors’ yard. She was feeding hundreds of them during winter. This photo, in particular, has a special place in my heart. I challenged myself to take it. It’s hard to take pictures of birds flying, especially when they are so tiny. Granted, having two birds flying and looking at each other in the same photo is an accomplishment. That day I took 1,800 photos. I wanted to capture them flying. It was my first time doing that. I submitted this photo to the contest Fotografa Del Año organized by Somos Fotografas, and I won 1st place in the nature category. I couldn’t believe it. One of my first photos of Birds won an international contest !! So you can imagine my happiness.All the photos are taken by: Julieta Belmont.
