Sumi

DESCRIPTION Named after the Japanese term “Sumi-e”. “Sumi” means “black ink” and “e” means “painting”, an art form in which subjects are painted with black ink in all possible gradations, achievable by dissolving ink in water. Real sumi-e conveys a simplicity and spontaneity that strikes the viewer’s sensibility.
