Doodlebug Workshop is a vocational school that teaches practical skills in a classroom setting to participants with disabilities ages 16-60+. Participants learn to create products made of wood, metal, and reclaimed materials. Skilled volunteers including retired wood shop teachers, local veterans, and woodworking craftsmen teach use and safety of hand tools and power tools. In tandem with craftsmanship skills, Doodlebug also teaches participants skills like independence, accomplishment, and building self-esteem. The workshop is supported by sponsors and donors who fund the facility, workshop, tools, supplies, and operating expenses. 100% of proceeds on Doodlebug Workshop products go directly back to their facility.
