Omas Ingegno Scrittorio Limited Edition Fountain Pen - Silver Edition
The "Ingegno Scrittorio" fountain pen, a masterful creation from Raffaella Simoni Malaguti (daughter of OMAS founder Armando Simoni) and her son Gianluca, embodies the innovative spirit of the Italian Renaissance. This exquisite writing instrument draws its inspiration from previously unseen sketches by Leonardo da Vinci, introduced to Malaguti by Professor Alessandro Vezzosi, a renowned expert and the Director of the Museo Ideale Leonardo da Vinci. These sketches, precursors to modern fountain pen designs, have been meticulously interpreted and adapted to meet contemporary needs, culminating in the "Writing Genius" — the latest pinnacle of OMAS craftsmanship. The pen features a cylindrical body crowned with a small sphere, adorned with a carnelian cabochon in the sterling silver version. Intricate decorations at both the top and end of the pen, inspired by da Vinci’s knots, enhance its elegance. "Ingegno Scrittorio" is a limited edition, of 1,000 in sterling silver. The nib, a design by Angelo Malaguti from 1971, showcases a pure and aerodynamic form that simultaneously hints at the future, aptly named Rinascimento (Renaissance). True to the ingenious visions of da Vinci, the feeder is crafted from hand-made ebonite, and the oak case, inscribed with the collection name, contrasts the pen's simple exterior with its luxuriously designed interior. This pen is not just a writing tool but a tribute to the legacy of the Italian Renaissance, designed to be treasured by connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike.
