Nerve, Dick Francis Uncorrected proof copy of the first edition of Francis' second novel, housed in a custom quarter leather case with decorative boards and a felt interior. London: Michael Joseph, 1964. Original brown wrappers as issued, "Jan 27" and the eventual price of the first edition "16/–" written to top front corner. In very good condition, wraps show a bit of shelfwear with light creasing, typical rumpling to spine, traces of minor discoloration to rear. The lower portion of the front wrap and spine joint appears to have been professionally secured, giving the volume a tight and sturdy binding. Internally clean. Slipcase shows a touch of wear. Overall, a very presentable copy in a beautiful case.
