These Thirteen, William Faulkner  First trade edition, first printing of Faulkner's first collection of stories. First state with "280" error (instead of "208") on the table of contents.  New York: Jonathan Cape & Harrison Smith, 1931. Publisher's original blue cloth over grey cloth spine lettered in red, black topstain, decorative endpapers; pp. (x), 358. An about near fine copy in a very good, unclipped dust jacket. Binding remains sturdy, minor shelfwear and toning to board extremities, minor foxing to foredge. Owner's blindstamp to half-title, else internally clean. Jacket shows light general shelfwear and rubbing with a couple closed tears and chips, panels and spine a touch toned. A presentable copy, protected in archival mylar.
