The artwork is still hand-silkscreened layer by layer as with all our other papers. Our Contemporary Blooms chiyogami yuzen washi pattern is a chic, modern design featuring branches of large, bold plum blossoms in shades of pink and white against a black background that really makes the flowers pop. Each color layer of the design is hand-silkscreened in Japan by artisans on to a thick, fibrous mulberry paper (called kozo).
