15 Linden Tree Seeds: Lime & Basswood Varieties for Verdant Growth
Tree species in the Tilia Genus are commonly named Linden, Lime, or Basswood in English. See List of Tilia Vernacular Names for more common names in other languages. Tilia trees can be easily identified by their leaves (oblique-cordate leaves 6 ↔ 20 centimetres (2 ↔ 8 in) across) and Tilia species are large deciduous trees, typically reaching 20 ↔ 40 metres (66 ↔ 130 ft) in height. Linden Trees are well used in North America and western Europe for ornamental, or landscaping purposes. This is due to the many desirable qualities these species possess, ranging from appearance to practical uses, such as bee-trees. Linden trees are harvested for their wood, and as they can generatively and vegetatively reproduce, this results in easy propagation for growers or for coppice farmers.
