Wakizashi

A wakizashi is a Japanese short sword. It would have been a companion sword for the longer samurai sword. This interpretation has a slightly more curved blade, similar to what you might find in the even smaller and shorter kwaiken. I love how the splatter etch pattern came out on the blade and is a beautiful contrast to the clean lines that are present in the handle.  G.R. Harper at Saddle Mountain Leather made the incredible custom leather sheath, black with golden highlights. The characters read from top to tip, Protect, Courage, Strength, Harmony and Spirit.   Overall Length: 19 inches Blade Length: 12  1/4 inches Handle Length: 6  3/4 inches
