Trebbiano Blend 2023 Il Folicello 'Buffo Bianco'

Description: Folicello is a perennial favorite of mine for putting out a range of largely sparkling wines, both traditional Lambrusco and more atypical bottlings such as this. Made up of all estate farmed, certified organic fruit, the Montuni (oddball white Emilia-Romagna native varietal) and Trebbiano both see 20 days of skin contact, while the Pinot Noir is direct pressed blanc de noir and blended in. The wine finishes fermentation in bottle (ancestral/pet-nat method). This one may be my favorite orange bubbly yet. Grapefruit zest, white pepper, some white flower, really nice acidity, and just enough bubbles to stand up to a whole range of food.
