The artist of this poster is Marten Melsen (1870 - 1947) who was Belgian born and worked in the country during his career. He attended the Academy of Brussels where he began his education as a painter in the Flemish style. As a painter he was known for his depictions of peasant life in Belgium and surrounding countries.
