This Greece poster was created by the gifted American artist David Klein (1918 -2005), and depicts a Greek soldier in profile wearing a Corinthian helmet. Klein has chosen to represent the soldier in a very classical way, the same style that would be found in Greek pottery. Most likely, the artist chose to use reds and blacks to evoke Greek vases. On the other hand, the helmet has some representations that look like marble sculptural reliefs with a centaur and a naked male figure on his back. The poster is a beautiful reminiscence of the grand Classic past of Greece and a clever design for attracting tourism. TWA (Trans World Airlines) was formed in 1924 as Transcontinental & Western Air. The airline's first route was New York to Los Angeles, soon followed by multiple National routes.
