This poster was created by Porsche to celebrate their drivers' win at the 1970 Monza 1000km Formula One race. The winning race car team was comprised of Mexican driver Pedro Rodriguez and Finnish driver "Leksa" Kinnunen. The Monza racetrack is located in a wooded setting just north of Milan. Built in 1922, it is the traditional host of the Italian Grand Prix and is regularly used for Formula One racing. This poster was created by Atelier Strenger - Reichert, an art studio known for their clean lines and enticing color combinations. At the helm of the firm was Erich Strenger (1922 - 1993), who helped form the identity of Porsche across all marketing efforts. Strenger worked for Porsche for over 30 years. Ferdinand Porsche began his famed automotive business in Germany in 1931, and it originally started as a parts manufacturer that supplied Volkswagen.
