This classically designed poster was created to promote Terrot Bicycles and the tours you could take using them. Here we see a gentleman leading one such tour; his female guest kisses off the people further down the mountain that she has beat to the top. This clever woman is featured in many posters for the company by the artist, Francisco Tamagno. The recent races won with Terrot Cycles is listed out proudly in a banner at the bottom of the poster. Francisco Tamagno (1851-1933) was of Portuguese origin, and started his artistic career as a portrait painter. Tamagno moved to Paris sometime in the 1880’s and became the house artist of the Printer Camis, where he started off creating theatrical playbills and moved up to creating posters for railroads, bicycle makers, and distillers. Tamagno’s style is highly pictorial and his work can be identified through the use of lively, bright colors. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is linen backed.
