Maynard Hale Lyndon has thoroughly enjoyed painting only on square formats since starting this series in March 2025 at his LyndonDesign studio in Healdsburg. Thus, the title, “Within a Square.” After making hundreds of square 3D “Looking Boxes” for many years at The Sea Ranch, he's delighted in painting small works (8"x8" and 12"x12") on deckle-edged thick Indian rag cotton paper, plus a few paintings on 12"x12" birch panels, using acrylics, watercolors, and colored and black pencils. This book was designed by Hall Kelley.
