"Regarding the hand-bound journals; The covers I source are mainly books written by problematic white cis men. Therefore, I gut the books and sow new paper inside and collage Black folks on the front — this to me is a form of reparations and redemption." Doriana Diaz is a queer Afro-Boricua based in Philadelphia’s soulful rhythms. Her work is an exploration of re-imagination, cultural agency, archival documentation, and rhythms of resistance and expansion.
