Benzoyl Peroxide Gel 10%

Water-based gel used for moderate to severe acne and/or oily skin and acne on the back or chest. Clears up acne blemishes, blackheads, and whiteheads and prevents future breakouts. The gel form is more potent than cream forms because it has a better rate of penetration into the follicle.  When applied to the surface of the skin, BP penetrates into the follicles and releases oxygen.  This oxygen kills the bacteria that cannot survive in the presence of oxygen.  Benzoyl Peroxide also has a keratolytic affect on the skin causing it to peel.  It is during the peeling process that the follicles are "opened up" and impactions can surface or be extracted.
