Apollo 11 Command Module Foil

Own a piece of history with this Apollo 11 Command Module Foil fragment. Initially aboard the space shuttle Columbia, this fragment of foil helped to protect astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins on their journey to the Moon and back. This type of Kapton foil provided thermal protection for the astronauts and came from the personal collection of a retired NASA production control engineer. Each sample is approximately 1mm x 1mm and enclosed in an acrylic cube with a magnified lid for easy viewing. Each cube is then housed in a padded, glass topped Riker box measuring 5.5” x 6.5”. An information card with a certificate of authenticity, images from Apollo 11 and details of the mission is also included.
