Ungemach Pottery Company (Ohio, USA) Frog Planters, A Pair
A pair of rare frog cachepots from Ungemach Pottery Company decorated with pink and yellow bow ties. Each planter measures 4 1/2" across the rim, 5 1/4" across the base, and 4" tall. The bottom is impressed with "Ungemach" "UPCO" "LEC 750" and "USA." The condition of both planters is very good. Ungemach Pottery Company of Ohio Ungemach Pottery Company was founded in 1937 initially as South Fork Pottery by Fred Ungemach in Roseville, Ohio. In 1942 the company was renamed Ungemach Pottery Company ("UPCO"). As a young man, Mr. Ungemach worked at McCoy Pottery and Robinson Ransbottom Pottery Company before founding UPCO, which may account for some of the comparisons made between UPCO and McCoy Pottery.
