Birthday Beads

There is a tradition in the Seminole Indian tribe in which each year a strand of these beads is given to a woman on her birthday.  The necklaces layered up their neck. This continued until their 40th birthday.  then 1 strand a year was removed, until there was only 1 strand left at 80 or more years.  The beads were considered a sign of honor, and were worn in public at at all ceremonies. These beads from the Seminole Tribe come with a history card.  They are the perfect gift to tuck into an envelope for any birthday.
