Our Pocket Demeter Erinys statue honors an ancient epithet of Demeter's: Erinys, She of Wrath & Fury. This epithet of hers arises from Demeter's Arcadian cult. In this form, she is assaulted by Poseidon and eventually gives birth to either Arion (a horse god) or Despoine (a goddess of mysteries).
