Self portrait under the full moon

I loved painting self portraits. This is a painting from very early in my painting career. I was only 16 or 17 when I painted this. I had felt at that time there was something that emerged as I was out in the night. A separate part of my psyche or soul, a more primal force that wanted to stalk the streets while howling at the moon.  I love artificial lighting too.
