When I started calling these hand cut pine trees Rebel Pines a couple years ago it planted the seed in me to change my business name to Rebel Pine Studio.  I felt so connected to the idea behind these pieces, the idea of living life in a rebellious way that was counterculture to what the norm of modern society dictates, and it began to change me from the inside without my even knowing it.  Rebel Pines aren’t necessarily a specific type of pine tree, but could be one of many different types. As I looked at them when they were complete, the word rebel came to mind because they are wild and unruly looking. This is exactly how they grow in nature, imperfect in shape and size.
