Large Bronze Figural Devil Face Ashtray
Based on a 1st Century oil lamp found in the ruins of Pompeii, this grotesque little guy is ready to haunt your drawing room or wherever you retire for a good cigar and a nightcap. Cast in heavy bronze, this eye-catching ashtray is fashioned in the shape of a nub horned devil or perhaps the Greek God Pan. His wide open mouth is designed to receive ashes while the two holes in his nostrils allow the smoke from your cigarette to drift out. This timeless design has been in use for more than a century, making this particular piece very difficult to date. However, we believe it to be from roughly the 1930s-1950s. Truly a conversation piece!
