2010 Chateau Sigalas Rabaud Lieutenant de Sigalas Sauternes 375ML
Here we have the second wine from the first growth estate Chateau Sigalas Rabaud, once called Cadet de Sigalas. Back at the time of the 1855 classification, the estate was simply known as Rabeaud, but the estate was purchased by Henri Drouilhet de Sigalas in the 1800s, and was then joined with Chateau Pexoto. Lots has changed since, with the estate eventually being divided again into what is now Sigalas Rabaud and Rabaud Promis. This wine has a bit more Sauvignon blanc than does the first wine, but still 80+% in most vintages. The noses is predominantly honey and honeysuckle with honey and apricot on the palate. Not too much going on here, but very easy drinking. Simple, delicate, and a solid pairing for some spicey foods, like Gereal Tsous Chicken 85% Semillon, 15% Sauvignon Blanc France Bordeaux Sauternes 375
