2016 Domaine de la Combe Dieu Rasteau

France Rhone Southern Rhone, RasteauRasteau AOC, created in 1943, is predominantly Grenache, though all other Côtes du Rhône varietals are permitted, but limited to 10% in total. Despite the AOC, wines had to be sold onder the Côtes du Rhône Villages designation until 1996 when Rasteau was one of the villages names that could be added. By the 2009 vintage, it had become its own appelation, no longer needing to be labeled as Côtes du Rhône Villages at all.
