Domaine Dame Jeanne Premices

From Burgundian winemaker Jeanne Piollot, who grew up on the southern edge of Champagne, she takes a playful approach to naming her wine, for 'Dame Jeanne' has a double meaning in French. It literally translates to 'Lady Jeanne' giving a tongue-in-cheek regal air to her name and this rustic region, but 'damejeanne' is the word for the beautiful, large, round glass jars with a thin neck that have been used to store and transport wines and spirits since the middle ages.
