Black Walnut Block BW-385 1.3" x 1.3" x 14.2"

Black Walnut Block BW-385 1.3" x 1.3" x 14.2" 0.7 lbs. This is a very attractive block of spalted Black Walnut. It is a mix of heartwood and sapwood (about 30%/70%) with clean, uncomplicated grain pattern. There is a beautiful transition of colors from darker to lighter, with some spalting mixed in.  There is one prominent zig-zag of dark zoned spalting that will look beautiful in a finished product.  The colors are an overall light brown with bands of darker-brown spalting. I see no cracks, checks, or other significant flaws.  There are a couple of superficial sawblade marks that will turn or sand off -- none of these are penetrating the block.
