Thiourea dioxide Thiourea dioxide - Thiox - is a reducing agent and is used in preparing the indigo vat.  It can also be used as a color remover to discharge colors from previously dyed fabric. It is an excellent substitution for Hydrosulfite as it is safer to use,  has a greater strength, and has a longer shelf life.
