Name: Weld Powder Scientific Name: Reseda Luteola L Also known as dyer’s rocket, dyer’s weed, dyer’s mignonette, and gaude, weld is a dye plant used to obtain a range of light and wash-fast yellow colors.  Weld can be combined with indigo or woad for emerald and leaf greens.  How weld powder is produced: Weld is a biennial dye plant, native to Western Asia and the Mediterranean area.  Here at themazi, we obtain our weld from local producers in Anatolia.  We have several local producers who collect it for us in summer.  We visit their villages to collect it and bring it here to grind and package ready for you.
