Joseph Ramsay x Thesis Shell Pendant/Object

Shell Pendant/Object A design envisioned by Joseph at the beginning of his career, it has now come to fruition.  Details The piece was hand-carved and wax-casted in fine silver as a shell form with lizard texture.  Finished beautifully both on the front and back; the open work on the back easily accommodates a silk cord or heavy chain to use as a pendant. Featured in the center of the shell is a 1.17 carat fancy grey Old European Cut diamond.    Joseph Ramsay artist statement: Joseph W Ramsay began designing jewelry at age 15 years in a wax-carving class. Invigorated by the tactility and fluidity of the medium, he took inspiration heavily from species biodiversity that had always fascinated him. After exposure to world class renderings and gouaches, he left carving behind to focus on design, honing his appreciation for lesser-appreciated stones and original design.
