Soie Trame

Quantity on Spool   Each spool is 50 meters.  This thread line is being discontinued sadly.  There will be more as soon as I get another shipment spooled. Thread Structure Soie Trame is an exceptionally fine, untwisted silk, approximately 1/4 the thickness of Soie Ovale. It comes spooled as a single strand of gathered filaments, with a very subtle twist over about a meter. This thread is designed to be used directly in the needle, without the need for dividing.  Uses of Soie Trame Soie Trame is particularly well-suited for thread painting, miniature counted work on silk gauze, and for combining with other floss silks, like Soie Ovale, to create complex, hand-twisted threads using Japanese techniques. When used for satin stitch, you can work with multiple lengths of thread in the needle and smooth the stitches with a laying tool for a polished finish.
