Suzy Snowflake Cowl Pattern
This worsted weight ‘Suzy Snowflake Cowl’ is knit in two-color stranded colorwork to create a festive wintery design. My inspiration for the name comes from my families’ favorite winter special: Suzy Snowflake. I think the snowflake motifs and color pairing resemble the style of this nostalgic stop motion cartoon from the early 1950’s.The cowl is knit in the round and creates a long tube. You will place a twist in the middle and then seam both edges together at the end with a kitchener stitch. As a result, you end up with a double-layered fabric that is extra squishy and cozy and has the design facing outward all the way around. I have written this pattern using a provisional cast on and a kitchener stitch for closing the seam at the end. You will use a tapestry needle to seam together the live stitches from both the cast on and bind off edges. I have included links to video tutorials for both techniques. The pattern itself is written as a color-coded chart.GaugeUsing US 8 (5.0mm) n
